Knee Pain – Surgery Avoided
I injured my knee in February of 2010, and MRI results showed a torn meniscus and a partial tear of my ACL. After a Doctor misdiagnosed this injury in February, I walked around in pain for 6 months with no signs of improvement. Once I got a second opinion, and had my MRI, it was confirmed that there was a problem and it had not gotten better. In fact, the leg had gotten worse because of my favoring it. I was scheduled for surgery and told to sign up for physical therapy. I had about a month’s time before surgery, and I was still in a lot of pain. A friend told me about acupuncture and thought I should try it out. I’m a skeptic when it comes to everything, and I am afraid of needles, so I almost didn’t go. Thankfully I took the chance and went. The needles do not hurt when they are applied, so this of course made me happy. I did not know what to expect, but I would have done anything at this point. I was amazed when after even just one treatment there was more comfort in my step. Because it seemed to be working, I kept going. Who would have thought that the day I was scheduled to have surgery I was walking around with no pain in my knee. I was able to cancel surgery and move on with my life. I was a skeptic at the start, but I am certainly a believer now. I was also pleased with the pricing. Most places that offer Acupuncture offer it at higher price point. I’m just a kid waiting tables to put myself through college, so there isn’t to much extra I can afford. Without acupuncture I would be on crutches right now recovering from surgery. Instead, I helped my friend move into their new apartment today! I have since been able to move on from my knee and spend some more time on other issues I have had such as my back, headaches, and even stress. There are many things they can help you with, so do yourself a favor and ask! I’m glad I did! ~BC
Neck and Low Back Pain
Prior to starting acupuncture I had chronic neck and low back pain for more than 20 years. Having a pretty physical job, I was forced to take pain medications on a daily basis. Since I started acupuncture I have been able to discontinue all of my pain medications and I am now living pain free! ~ MH
I had dealt with chronic allergies my entire life, not going one day without a stuffy runny nose and sneezing, and tried many medications. Before starting acupuncture I had begun doing allergy shots which only seemed to make me worse. I wasn’t sure how acupuncture could help, but during my first treatment I could feel my sinuses draining and I had no symptoms for the next 24 hours. A day of no symptoms may not seem like much, but for me it was amazing. I continued acupuncture regularly over the next 6 months and I can now say that I am allergy free! ~ JM
